Accident leaves passengers hospitalised

It is alleged that the robot was green when the truck travelling on Watermeyer Street collided with a maroon Mazda bakkie also travelling on the same street but in different directions tried to make a u-turn at Tasbet Park’s robots.

Oil was spilled all over the road leading to traffic officials having to close Watermeyer Street for an hour or so.
This follows after an accident occurred between a maroon Mazda bakkie and a truck on the evening of Saturday, June 25.

In order to stabilise the situation until everything could return back to normal, motorists were prohibited from driving on that road.


The maroon Mazda bakkie that was involved in an accident with a truck on the corner of Watermeyer- and Kierpersol Street on June 25.

It is alleged that the robot was green when the truck travelling on Watermeyer Street collided with a maroon Mazda bakkie also travelling on the same street but in different directions tried to make a u-turn at Tasbet Park’s robots. The incident left the bakkie’s left hand side being a total wreck.

There were three children in the vehicle who was rushed to hospital but luckily they are now out of danger as they have been discharged and are out of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) although one person still remains critical.

The truck was towed off the scene after it collided with a ¬¬maroon Mazda bakkie on June 25 on the corner of Watermeyer- and Kiepersol Street.

Legacy Emergency Specialists were on scene attending to the passengers of the bakkie who were injured with one man being stuck inside the car.

“We treated five patients where one was extensively critical. They were however all rushed to Witbank Hospital to receive medical attention,” said one of the directors of Legacy Emergency Specialists, Mr Gene Jacobs.

He further applauded all the people that assisted on the scene including the public and the police.
There were a total number of 67 accidents reported over the weekend.
