Vehicle crashes into a train, leaving driver uninjured

Two vehicles and a train were involved in an accident at Klarinet’s railway.
The tragedy took place around 16:35 on Thursday, May 31 with a mini bus, train and a black VW jetta being involved in the collision.

It is sketchy as to how the incident could have occurred but it is alleged that the VW jetta was passing the level crossing without stopping when it collided with the train.

“The train was coming from Saaiwater with empty wagons to load coal at Uitkyk siding. There were no serious injuries,” said Mike Asefovitz, the Senior Manager of External Communications at Transnet.

The drivers of the mini bus and VW jetta could not be reached for comment.
