Seized counterfeit goods confiscated

Witbank SAPS in co-operation with the National Inspectors for counterfeit goods executed a search and seized a large amount of goods.

Witbank SAPS in co-operation with the National Inspectors for counterfeit goods executed a search and seized a large amount of goods.

The operation took place on Friday, May 27 in the Central Business District.

The main reason for this operation was to address the possession and selling of counterfeit goods to the public.
During the operation shoes, bags, shoe polish and several women’s cosmetic items were confiscated from foreign national shops.

The total value of all the goods confiscated by the police and SARS is estimated at R1.2 million.

Business owners and the general public are once again reminded that selling and buying of counterfeit goods is against the counterfeit and goods Act 37 of 1997.
