The incident occurred on May 26.

Two thieves entered the premises of Pal Bus Services, and snuck into the key room where they avoided making eye contact with the surveillance cameras, they opened the key cabinet and removed two sets of keys.

As the one thief was entering one of the Crafters the local bus drivers confronted him and chased him off into the nearby field. The other suspect managed to get into one of the Crafters and drove out through the boom gate turning left into Springbok Street.

Vehicle tracking lead to the recovery of one of the Crafters.

“We have reason to believe that they had inside information regarding security and the location of the keys,” said Mr Andre Botha, Operations Manager, Pal Bus Services.
