On the narrow winding Bethal road a white Hyundai Accent was recently involved in an accident where a man (40) died at the scene.
Apparently the head-on collision that occurred on May 14 at about 07:00 killed the victim on impact and he was declared dead on the scene by emergency services.
Another accident that occurred on the same day later that afternoon also left a victim severely injured and another dead.
The collision on the Bethal Road near Ga-Nala on May 17.
At about 17:45 on the same road another collision left one of the occupants of a Toyota Hilux with severe injuries. The victim was taken to Trichardt Hospital. The other occupant died on the scene.
It is unclear which one was the driver. Emergency services found their vehicle overturned on the scene with the occupants still inside. The Kriel SAPS reports that accidents on this stretch of road towards Bethal are not at all uncommon. They urge drivers to be vigilant especially when travelling at night.
