This past week numerous robberies with knives were reported to Witbank Police.
What was supposed to be a peaceful Sunday turned out to be a horror for a few residents in eMalalheni.

On May 8 a man that goes by the name of “Themba” was walking towards his house in Hertzog street when two unknown men approached him, asking for a lighter.

“I told the guys that I don’t smoke and therefore I did not have a lighter,” said Themba.

Suddenly the suspect that kept quite the whole time pulled out a knife and threatened Themba with it.
The other suspect demanded him to give over all his belongings he had on him.

“They took R70 from me as well as my cell phone,” said Themba.

As hours went by the SAPS got a phone call from a man, confirming that he was just robbed by three ladies one of which had a knife with her.

It was alleged that the man parked his vehicle in a parking lot, as he climbed out of his car three women approached him.

One of the suspects then allegedly climbed into the victim’s vehicle as the other two suspects forced him to give them the vehicle and all his belongings.

They did not get away with his vehicle but unfortunately with his wallet, cell phone and all his personal belongings such as his ID (Identity Document), license- and bank cards.
