Hawks are searching for ATM bombers – R150 000 reward

The Hawks in Mpumalanga are offering a reward of R150 000 to anyone that might have information that will lead to the arrest and conviction of five men that were involved in ATM bombing cases at Ga-Nala.

The Hawks in Mpumalanga are offering a reward of R150 000 to anyone that might have information that will lead to the arrest and conviction of five men that were involved in ATM bombing cases at Ga-Nala.

On November 4 2011, five suspects of which one of them is limping bombed an ABSA ATM at an Excel filling station. It was around 01:42 when the suspects blasted the machine and an undisclosed amount of money was taken.

As they were busy, a man in his motor vehicle who wanted to withdraw money was critically injured when he was met by R5 bullets. The shots were fired by one of the suspects who guarded the entrance of the filling station. The man that was shot is now paralysed.

The suspects then proceeded and went to blast another ATM at a nearby True Save Complex.
Police were informed of the crime happening but they too were allegedly greeted with bullets.

It is alleged that the suspects were driving a silver vehicle and the registration number is unknown. Lieutenant Dineo Sekgotodi said that any information received pertaining to this matter will be treated with the strictest confidentiality.
