A couple in Klarinet was woken up by a noise in the house. What started out as a burglary quickly became much more serious when the husband went to inspect the noise in the kitchen.
The victim apparently saw the hooded assailant lurking around in the kitchen and when the suspect turned around and noticed the frightened home owner he apparently pulled out his firearm without saying a word.
The victim screamed and then the robber fired a shot in the victim’s direction. The man screamed again and ran for cover when the robber fired yet another shot. The gunman allegedly threatened the couple and stole cash as well as a television set among other things before fleeing.
A case of house robbery has been opened with the Witbank SAPS. The incident occurred on March 27 at about 02:00 in the early hours of the morning. The Witbank SAPS would like to once again remind residents that should they ever be caught up in a similar situation to not be a hero but rather comply with the robber as your life is more important than anything they might steal from you.
