Collision of two cars leads to the death of two children

This time children aged seven and 13 lost their lives in this tragic accident.

The notorious S-bends just outside eMalahleni claimed another two lives. This time children aged eight and 11 lost their lives in this tragic accident. The rainy morning of March 9 saw traffic moving slowly due to a collision between a white bakkie that was travelling from eMalahleni’s direction and a Mercedes Benz coming from Johannesburg’s direction.

“The Mercedes Benz driver was trying to dodge a tyre in the middle of the road when he swerved his steering, lost control of his vehicle and collided with the bakkie,” said Russel Meiring ER24’s spokesperson.

There was only one person in the bakkie and three people in the Mercedes.
Damages sustained on the bakkie are in the front whilst the Mercedes Benz had huge damages on the left hand side of the vehicle.

The driver of the bakkie sustained a knee injury and the driver of the Mercedes Benz had severe injuries and was rushed to Emalahleni Private Hospital by JD Med ambulance services. The two deceased children have not yet been identified.

Police, JD Med, Langamed and ER24 were some of the emergency vehicles attended the scene
