Accident at off-ramp leaves bakkie on its side

An accident occurred at the N12 off-ramp on OR Tambo Street where a bakkie was knocked onto its side some 15 meters from the intersection.

The accident took place in the early hours of Thursday February 18.
According to reports the white Toyota Hilux was travelling down OR Tambo towards Klipfontein when the silver Honda Accord allegedly turned-in in front of the bakkie opting to get onto the N12 Highway.

“There was a car going onto the N12 but it didn’t stop and wait for the oncoming traffic and turned in front of me,” said Mr Noel Tigere, the driver of the Hilux.

The wreckage of the bakkie being cleared after the accident that occurred on Thursday February 18.

The force of the impact caused the Hilux to roll onto its side a few meters down from the collision point.
Both drivers of the vehicles sustained injuries in the accident and were tended to by paramedics from Langamed Emergency Management Services, ER24 also attended the scene.
Tigere was taken to Anglo American Hospital to undergo observation and was discharged later the same day.
