Man dies a gruesome death and leaves police searching for answers

Vosman police are leaving no stone unturned, trying to find a reason behind the death of a man

Vosman police are leaving no stone unturned, trying to find a reason behind the death of a man whose burnt body was found at a field next to extension five. Police received a phone call from a by-passer on February 4 informing them about the gruesome incident. It was about 06:00 when police rushed to the scene and upon arrival they found a man’s burnt body. A few items were found lying next to him.

These items included a cellphone which was found three meters away from the body and two containers of two litre bottles that had petrol in them which appeared to have been used in this tragic. His body sustained several injuries being that his left foot appears to have been eaten by a dog.

According to Captain Klaas Maloka footprints of a dog were found and his flesh shows as such. A white substance was coming out of his nose and he had an injury on the head. A case of murder has been opened at Vosman police station and the deceased has been identified as Simphiwe Mbambo, a 24-year-old man from Hlalanikahle extension three.

“Thus far we do not have any information as to what might have transpired for the man to be found in that position. The matter is currently being investigated. A post mortem will assist in finding out what would have caused his death,” said Capt Maloka.
