Don’t be caught off guard when you go and apply for your driver’s license
The Mpumalanga Provincial Government has published the new increases license fees and this will be implemented on February 1.
To apply for a learner’s license will now cost R139, and if you pass the issue of a learner’s license will now cost R40.
An application for a motorcycle (A1 and A) and light motor vehicle (B and EB) will now cost R145 and a heavy motor vehicle (C1, C, EC1 and EC) R224.
The issue of a driving license is now R187 and to get a temporary license is R64.
Drivers license dates for application in February:
February 5: Code A1, A, B and EB male and female.
February 12: C1, C, EC1 and EC females only.
February 19: C1, C, EC1 and EC females only.
February 26: C1, C, EC1 and males only.
Learners license dates for applications in February
February 5: Codes 1 and 2 male and female.
February 12: Code 3 female only.
February 19: Code 3 female only.
February 26: Code 3 male only.

Some interesting facts that may interest our readers:
Between July and December last year 2 848 applications were made for driver’s licenses at eMalahleni of which 74% were successful and 1 253 at Ga-Nala of which 57% were successful.
In the same time period 1 197 applications for learner’s licenses were made at eMalahleni of which 53% were successful and 1 584 were made in Ga-Nala of which 67% were successful.
A whopping 10 700 driver license renewals were made in the same time
