Witbank SAPS divided eMalahleni precint into five sectors.
Sector policing means policing that focuses on small manageable sectors of a police station area. It is a tool to implement community policing.
The purpose is to perform targeted visible police patrols, ensure a rapid response to complaints, address crime generators, investigate reported cases and provide a localized policing service to the community in accordance with their respective needs.
Each of these five sectors has a sector commander. Their role is to mobilize and organize the community in the sector to take action against local crime together with the police. Also to act as liaison between the community of the sector and the local police station. To act as a crime prevention officer, which involves being responsible for all plans and projects to address crime in the sector.
The community also has a role to play to make sector policing viable.
Attend the community police sub forum meetings to discuss action plans with the sector commander in order to deal with crime in the sector
Participate in neighborhood initiatives to safeguard the area in which they live, work and play. And to take ownership of community policing and support the SAPS in the enforcement of the law.
The five sectors are detailed as:
*Sector 1 sector commander: Sgt Dire Madisa – 073 234 7199.
Sector 1 is demarcated as Jackaroopark, MNS informal settlement, Kromdraai plots, Old Coronation, Klarinet, Pine Ridge, Paxton, Leeuwpoort smallholdings, Bulpan, the airfield, Kromdraai mine, Sisterstroom, Hartebeesfontein, Farm Blesboklaagte en Techno Park.
*Sector 2 sector commander: Lt Melvin Gulston – 078 518 8720 and deputy sector commander Const Mathotsi Lishiva: 082 753 7516.
Sector 2 is demarcated as Del Judor Proper, Model Park Ext 1 and 2, Fransville, Del Judor Ext 4, Highveld Mall, The Ridge Casino, Highveld Park Ext 1 and 2, Die Heuwel Ext 1 and 4, Blanchville, Riverview, agricultural holdings and also Seekoeiwater.
*Sector 3 sector commander: Lt Tembikile Tayi – 083 514 3194 and deputy sector commander Const Thuliswa Matsabisa: 083 624 6203.
Sector 3 is demarcated as Reyno Ridge Ext 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 15, 16 and 17, Ben Fleur Ext 2, 3, 4, 7 and 9, Witbank Dam, Bankenveld, Spring Valley, Naauwpoort smallholdings, Duvha Powerstation, Tasbetpark Ext 1, Duvhapark, Golden Mile estate, Wolvekrans, Del Judor Ext 1 and 2, Ext 16, Klipfontein business area east side (Checkers Hyper and Highland Mews) and Dixon smallholdings.
*Sector 4 sector commander: Lt JJJ Viljoen – 082 465 3624.
Sector 4 is demarcated as Ext 8, Ext 41, Tasbetpark Ext 2, 3 and 6, Landau mine, Greenside mine, Kleinkoppie mine, Tweefontein Mine, Smith Broers farm, Eskompark, Klipfontein, Klipfontein business area West (pick n pay side) and industrial area in Klipfontein.
