Two filling stations fell prey to armed robbers, leaving employees distraught and confused.
Both the Total garage in Opperman Street and the Sasol garage in Gordon Road were robbed in the early hours of the evening on January 9.

The employees at the Total garage were the first to fall victim to armed robbery when four men, two armed with firearms, entered the business at about 20:10. They held the cashier at gunpoint taking her cellular phone.
They then proceeded to take cigarettes and removed at least R3 000 from the till, according to reports the suspects then fled the scene on foot.

“We are unable to comment on the robbery or provide footage regarding the robbery as police investigations continue,” said the management of the store.

Roughly 30 minutes later four suspects entered the Sasol garage and held its cashiers at gunpoint, one of the armed suspects pointed his firearm at the cashier and told her to hand over the money from the till.
The money was loaded into a black plastic bag, the four robbers then fled the scene on foot.
Police investigations are ongoing and no arrests have yet been made.

In both instances the victims of these robberies will likely need to undergo trauma counselling before returning to work.
