The thieves broke through one of the windows; a steel plate has since been put in place to prevent entry to the business.

The two men gained access to the business by breaking a window out, this sounded the alarm which gave them little time to loot what they wanted.

“I received a call from my security company and asked them to stop there as quick as they could, I then called Michael Ludick who was at his shop and asked him to go have a look what was going on,” said Mr Leon du Plooy, Turbo Extreme Clinic owner.

One of the thieves dropped their caps, it was recovered just behind the business.
Ludick, accompanied by the armed response officer made their way to a suspected business in Toerien Street where they believed the thieves had run off to. Their suspicion was proven right when they stopped in front of the business and confronted its owner.

“We found the stolen high pressure washer and battery that were stolen they were just below the staircase in the business. When I confronted the owner of the business he said he had just arrived and did not know why there was stolen property in his business,” said Ludick.

A high pressure washer was stolen, blood on the washer shows that the thief must have cut his hand open on the glass when breaking into the business.

Ludick reminded the owner that having suspected stolen goods on his property was a criminal offence, but the owner apparently took little notice of the warning and went about his work.
Of the stolen items only the washer and battery were recovered, the items still missing include a battery, power bar, socket set and workshop tools.

Police visited the scene on Monday, January 4.
