A solid finish for SA at the IeSF world championships.

The Protea esports Team competed in the International eSports Federation World Championships (IeSF).

The Protea esports Team competed in the International eSports Federation World Championships (IeSF). The seventh annual event showed rough competition for the SA team which took place from December 5.
Ryan is the national team manager since 2013 and he is also on the committee for Mind Sports South Africa

“My biggest joy in this work with the MSSA is seeing eSports grow in South Africa,”

he said in an interview earlier this month.

The game titles in which the MWEB South African Protea eSports Team competed in are League of Legends, StarCraft II, and HearthStone.

While the League of Legends team failed to get out of the group stages, the team showed great skill and secured a win against Iran in the group stages.

In StarCraft, Nathan ‘StatiC’ Anderson won a match, and lost out to Joona ‘Serral’ Sotala who went on to win the championships for Star Craft.
Wynand ‘ViViD’ Meiring won two impressive victories in Hearthstone but was unable to make it through to the later stages.

The overall champion of 7th World Championship was taken by Serbia. Serbia won the title in Hearthstone and ranked the 3rd place in League of Legends. These results put Serbia in 1st place at the World Championship with total of 147 points.
