40 accidents within three days

Witbank Police Station received approximately 40 accident reports for the weekend which were reported from Friday, November 13 to Sunday, November 15.


The red Etos that was involved in an accident in Watermeyer Street on Friday evening, November 13.

On Friday, November 13 at 21:50 an accident occurred in Watermeyer Street where Mr A. Oshley who was driving a red Hyundai Etos and Mr Roberick MacLenan was who was driving a white Toyota Corolla collided into each other.
Oshley alleged that he was driving from Bethal direction towards eMalahleni when he collided with MacLenan who was travelling from the off ramp from the N12 highway.

According to Oshley, MacLenan didn’t stop at the yield sign.
While MacLenan alleged that Oshley was travelling at a high speed when they collided.
Both drivers sustained no injuries; the vehicles were towed away from the scene.
Later that evening at 23:45 on the N4 highway just before the N4/N12 split two vehicles collided in the rain.

Mr Ntswelengwe Mosweu who was driving a white Mecedez Benz allegedly collided into the back of Mr Nosiphiwo Tshomela who was driving a maroon Volkswagen Polo.
Mosweu alleged that Tshomela’s vehicle was stationary on the highway when he collided into the back of the vehicle.
Mosweu and Tshomela did not sustain any injuries.


The accident scene in Paul Sauer Street on Saturday evening, November 14.

In Paul Sauer Street on Saturday evening, November 14 at 21:45 Mr Quinten de Bryn, his wife and child were in their blue Toyota Yaris and Mr Lazaros Mashego was travelling in his white Volkswagen Polo Vivo.
De Bryn and his family were on their way home, he alleged while he was waiting at the red robot Mashego hit the stationery vehicle by the robot.

De Bryn and his wife were taken to Life Cosmos Hospital for a check up as they sustained slight injuries.
Mashego was taken to Witbank police station and was released from prison on Monday, November 16.
