A motorist became a victim of car hijacking while at Botha Street in Ackerville.

The victim Mr Mouries Sibeko reported to the police that he had parked his red VW Polo Vivo along Botha Street near the Gulfstream Filling Station on Saturday, October 24 at about 23:00. He was supposed to collect a friend and was calling him from outside the car and went back after making the call.

Soon after that he was confronted by unknown people as he was about to start his car. A suspect pointed at him with a firearm and opened the front passenger’s seat. Another suspect opened the driver’s door and took the key from the ignition, he was also armed.

Two other armed suspects opened the other two back doors.
The victim was driven in the direction towards Schonland Drive and was dropped near Mpondozankomo College.

They also took his wrist watch, wallet containing R50 and two account cards.
The car has only been purchased a day before on Friday, October 23, the suspects also took the car certificate, the car is valued at R145 000.

Police are investigating a case of hijacking and no one has been arrested.
