A truck driver reported to police that on August 27 he was parked at the toll gate and was awoken by a man knocking at his truck window. The man pointed his gun at the driver and told him to open the truck, which he did.

The robbers then stole the driver’s phone and took his bank card, they also demanded that he tell them the pin, one of the robbers took the card and withdrew an amount of R2 800 from the truck driver’s bank account. They then left the driver unharmed.

In another incident the following day, a man had withdrawn a substantial amount of money from a bank situated in Extension 10.

He was on his way to his driver’s car when a man approached him from behind and held him at gunpoint and ordered him to get into a black Volkswagen Polo. The occupants of the car robbed the man of his money and his shoes. They drove along the N12 highway for some time before dropping the man off alongside the highway.

On August 29 police arrived on scene in New Coronation where an alleged shooting took place.
Police were informed that a man had been shot and taken to Witbank Hospital for treatment, after being robbed of R300. Police were able to recover the shell casings of the bullets that were fired and investigations continue.
