Pet Empowerment in Townships (PETS) has a number of adoptees in need of loving homes.

Among these adoptees, Butch, Mocca and Rocky are three orphans in need of forever homes. Butch and Mocca are brother and sister and were found next to their deceased mommy when they were only 10 days old, the mommy was shot dead for unknown reasons.

Butch.

Butch is a beautiful, gentle natured, intelligent and active Africanis boy of approximately eight-months. Butch was bottle fed as a puppy after his mom was shot and has never had a family of his own. He is currently in boarding kennels and would really love to finally find that special family that will take him home. Butch will do very well with agility training. He is an inquisitive boy that loves to please his humans. He is fine with other dogs but cats unknown.

Mocca.

Mocca is beautiful and gentle natured just like her brother, she was also bottle fed as a puppy and has never had a family of her own. She is currently in boarding kennels and would really love to finally find that special family that will take her home. Mocca loves water and playing. She is an inquisitive girl that loves to please her humans. She is fine with other dogs but cats unknown.

Rocky.

Rocky was found with his siblings abandoned in a garage, and due to fighting over food he lost his one eye to a very bad injury. He has been waiting in kennels for more than two months now and has still not found a forever home. He is a stunning Labrador cross with loads of energy and approximately 18-months-old. He is very loving and sensitive and will slot in well in a home with teenage children and maybe a female companion or two and preferably no cats. He would do wonderful with a dedicated mom or dad willing to invest time in obedience training to tone him down as he is not a typical couch potato but also enjoys spending time with his humans relaxing after he has played and had fun.

PETS is a registered non-profit, pro-active, pro-life animal rescue organisation and strives to empower animals in townships and poor communities. They work with the community to improve the lives of these disadvantaged animals by giving them daily meals, warm shelters, regular inoculations, sterilisations and vet care in emergencies. They also re-home those ones that are unwanted, unloved or lost.
PETS is run by a group of members and volunteers that put every spare minute into helping animals. They are wholly indebted to all the wonderful foster families, volunteers and supporters, without their support only a small amount of what they do today would be possible. They work throughout the eMmalahleni area, wherever help is needed and have supporters from all over South Africa.
If you would like to be kept updated on PETS’ work in the community please visit and like their Facebook page at PETS (Witbank) or if you would like more information please contact them at michelle.petswitbank@gmail.com or naomi.petswitbank@gmail.com.
Their adoption fee of R450 includes sterilization and vaccinations, adoption applications, home checks and procedures apply.
