It was all smiles for the school learners

Vodacom visited Mogalithwa Primary School in Klarinet

Vodacom visited Mogalithwa Primary School in Klarinet to award the Primary School learners with 150 food parcels.

The principal of the school Nokuthula Madonsela said she was truly thankful to the donators for this wonderful gesture.

“The number of orphans in this school is very high. Most of these children live in squatter camps and the meal they have here is probably the last meal of the day,” said a delighted Madonsela. “Vodacom employees and stakeholders from Mpumalanga packed 4 500 food parcels for learners from previously disadvantaged schools, with Mogalithwa being one of the beneficiaries,” said Louisa van Beek

This initiative forms part of a larger project which the Vodacom Foundation is rolling out across the nation, building on its inaugural food security drive launched in honour of the International Nelson Mandela Day in 2013. Managing Executive of Vodacom Mpumalanga.

Van Beek adds that volunteering is a crucial element of giving back for the Vodacom family. “Tata Madiba gave his life to bring about change to the lives of the people of South Africa. In order to honour this lifetime sacrifice, our gift to him is to give our time to help make the world a better place. This is one of the best and befitting ways we can thank Tata for being an inspiration to the world,” concluded van Beek.
