Waiting for Shorty’s blood test results

It has been eight months since the tragic death of the city’s best known dwarf, Phillip Nkosinathi Ndlovu also known as Shorty.

Shorty died on November 9 after he was hit by a motorbike.

Sgt David Ratau, police spokesperson said they are in the final stretch to complete the docket. The investigating officer W/O Marius Etsebeth is just waiting for the forensics on Shorty’s blood samples to come back.

Once that has been received the docket will go to court for ruling to decide whether to prosecute the motorcyclist who hit Shorty.

The 32-year old man from Pretoria, who asked to be kept anonymous, said he changed lanes when the accident happened. He said he came from behind a car into the right lane when suddenly the dwarf was in front of him.

He said there was no way he could avoid hitting him.

Shorty’s death sent shockwaves through the community. Everyone who used the Swartbos-bridge came to know the friendly dwarf who held out a cup waiting for drivers to throw a few coins in.
