Truck leaves the whole house turned up-side down

The Mahlangu family were in one of their three houses built n the same yard when they heard a loud sound that came from the other house.

It was a sound of a white truck carrying bags of mealie meal that had just crashed into their house on July 17 at Rietspruit.

A driver of the truck was not inside when the vehicle crashed. He watched as his vehicle made its way into the five roomed house. The driver of the truck followed minutes later explaining to the family how he does not know what happened.

“Luckily we were not inside the house when the incident happened, I cannot imagine what could’ve happened to us if we were inside,” said Nhlanhla Mahlangu.
Mahlangu also added that the driver allegedly used a stone to stop it but because the truck was going downhill it could not be stopped. A handbrake was used in trying to stop the vehicle but as that also didn’t work, unfortunately it went straight into the house.

“We did not open a case but instead we decided to solve the matter ourselves. The agreement is that the driver will fix everything including the poles and furniture as everything from the inside and out is ruined,” said Mahlangu.

The family moved in this new development area in 2013 and are currently staying in the other two houses until their main house is fixed.
