What are you going to do with your 67 minutes?

Nelson Mandela International Day or better known as Mandela Day is a day in honouring our old President, Nelson Mandela.

The day is celebrated on 18 July each year, on Nelson Mandela’s birthday.
The United Nations also celebrate this day. This inspirational man practically dedicated his whole life to freedom fighting, services of humanity in numerous ways and he was the first democratically elected president of South Africa in 1994.

Many life-changing projects take place on this day where months of planning go into July 18.
The day originated when Nelson Mandela made a call in 2008 for the next generation to take on the burdens of leadership when he said: It is in your hands now. This was said at his 90th birthday celebrations in London’s Hyde Park in 2008.

It is explained to be more that a celebration of Madiba’s life and legacy, but rather a global movement to honour his life’s work and act to change the world for the better.
“Mr Mandela has spent 67 years making the world a better place. We’re asking you for 67 minutes”.
By donating one minute of your day for each of the 67 years Mr. Mandela donated to serve the country, one small gesture of solidarity with humanity is shown and a step taken towards global movement for good.

Do your bit for the 67 minutes in honouring Nelson Mandela and help change the world for the better. As this wise man once said-
