A mother has been arrested by the Vosman police after it was found that she has abused her six year-old girl.
Two women neighbours reported the matter to the police. The police visited the home accompanied by the two neighbours, they found the child with bruises all over her body.

Police then visited the child’s grandmother to find out about the bruises, she became aggressive towards the two women and the police.
The mother was then arrested by the police for child abuse.
She appeared in court on June 3 and the case was remanded to July 30.

National Child Protection Week (CPW) is commemorated in South Africa annually to raise awareness of the rights of children as articulated in the Children’s Act of 2005. The theme for this year is: ‘Working together to Protect Children’.

Understanding the signs and symptoms of abuse can save your child and can save every child.
