Lopsided lampposts as vehicles collide

On three different spots in O.R Tambo Street lampposts and traffic lights are bent and damaged due to alleged collisions on this road.

During the past weekend as many as 65 accidents were reported at Witbank Police Station. 13 of these accidents happened in O.R Tambo Street.

Most of the incidents resulted in slight or no injuries, but much damage to old and new vehicles. On Saturday, June 6 the driver of a Hilux Toyota told how he waited at a red robot in O.R Tambo Street, when a driver in a Mercedes allegedly drove right into his vehicle from behind, damaging his left rear bumper.

Not all accidents are always reported to the police station. Community members are asked to assist the police by reporting accidents on the road.
