Teachers and principal still not back

Mr Wolla Ras, principal of Hoërskool Reynopark, and two teachers, Ms Bella Ras and Mr Leon McKenzie, are still not back at school, but their suspension has been lifted.

The case is still under investigation and they are waiting for some more hearings to take place.
The Department of Education suspended Ras and the two teachers on Monday, February 16 after alleged racial remarks were made.

This follows an incident where it is alleged that teachers from Hoërskool Reynopark called parents and learners ‘Baboons and used the K word’.
For almost a year Ms Busiswe Mokoena’s 17-year-old daughter had been complaining about physical, emotional and verbal abuse at the school.
Things just erupted one week in February, when pupils and parents stood outside the school and chanted.
Mokoena’s mother then contacted Ms Ras about the issue via telephone and an appointment was made for Friday, February 13.

Later that day Mokoena then contacted the school again, she said she was sworn at when he said “F**k you”.
He then also spelled the word to her. After this he allegedly called her a ‘baboon’ and said she (Mokoena) is stupid and is wasting her airtime.
