On Thursday, April 30 at approximately 03:00 two police bakkies were patrolling on the Verena Road when the noticed a single cab white GWM bakkie driving along the road, with items on the back.
The first police vehicle tried to pull the GWM over, the driver of the bakkie then made a quick move and turned down the road and off loaded the passenger.
Constable A. Choma chased after the passenger of the vehicle who was apprehended, while Warrant Officer B. Guldston chased the bakkie.
“The bakkie was eventually stopped in Del Judor and the driver was arrested,” said Guldston.
On the back of the GWM the police found nine flat screen televisions, one sound system, two microwaves, three blankets, two DSTV decoders and two angle grinders.
It was later discovered after an investigation that the items were stolen from Astra Funitures in Kwaggafontein when the shop was broken into.
