It took over six hours for the R544 to be cleared of debris.

At 22:30 the road was back to normal and traffic could flow, seven steel plates were also removed along with the truck.

The truck that caused the accident will be sent for testing to see if the brakes on the truck failed.
On Wednesday late afternoon, April 22 a truck went crashing through oncoming traffic hitting seven cars and leaving eight people injured.

The truck eventually came to a stop approximately 800 meters from where the truck first hit the back of a coal truck at the stop street.
There were two seriously injured people and the other six people sustained minor injuries that were taken to various hospitals for observation.

The truck is from New Castle and was transporting a couple of tons of steel plates, as the truck went through the vehicles and lost its load.
