One family’s two dogs poisoned in two days

A family living in Reyno Ridge has been through a lot of stress when two of their dogs were poisoned over two nights.

They explain that on April 20 the children were late for school, so she only discovered that their Boerboel has died when she returned.
“The dog was very old, so we assumed it was just its time, but it was strange that it died because it seemed fine the night before,” said the resident of the house. She also said that the dog’s eyes were open when it died.

The next morning their Labrador was lying on the front porch of the house. They were shocked to see that the dog had severely suffered and its stomach was bloated.

The Community Policing Forum members and Witbank 911 were at the house in minutes to assist, although the dog did not make it.
“My stomach is tied up in knocks and I don’t know how to tell my children. We love our dogs,” she said tearfully.

The police were also on the scene and opened a case that will be investigated.
