Teens robbed walking from school

Two school children were robbed on their way from school to one of the children’s house.

The victims were apparently walking down Main Street in the Central Business District on March 24 when they were robbed.
At about 15:00 three unknown men approached the two high school children without any weapons.

They were intimidated and the men just took their cell phone and a bank card.
A case has been opened with the Witbank SAPS regarding the matter.

Sgt David Ratau, spokesperson for Witbank SAPS, stated in the past regard common robberies that pedestrians are advised to walk in groups and to avoid the CBD after dark. Although this advice does not guarantee safety, it will lower the risk of falling victim to robberies in the CBD.
