The accident happened on Tuesday, January 27 when a head on collision occurred between a lime green Daewoo Matiz occupied only by the driver, and a large coal truck in the middle of the day.
The collision occurred at about 10:00 and the driver in the Matiz died instantly.
Traffic is currently being diverted off the road as coal from the coal truck is scattered across both lanes.
Motorists are advised to use an alternative route.
Residents have had enough of all the accidents on the Old Middelburg Road as this one marks the fourth accident in the last two weeks.
