Municipality leaves behind a mess

Since the municipality was placed under administration more than a year ago they have put in more effort to repair broken water pipes and sewerage lines, however they have a bad habit of leaving a mess behind.

The most recent reports are of repaired pipeline holes not being filled, or large holes in the ground that are dangerous for pedestrians.

In the New Year residents of Branchville have reported that the municipality left a large pile of dirt in the parking lot of the post boxes next to the family Pick ’n Pay.

When the hole was still open, witnesses said that in the evening people are forced to stop in the road with their hazards on to collect their post because there is no space to park. This is potentially dangerous as the road becomes busy during peak hours said the witness.
On January 12 the hole was roughly filled with large rocks and a pile of rough sand that was lying next to it, although the parking lot is completely destroyed. To anyone driving past the post office, the damage is still clear.

In Tasbet Park Extension 2, residents of Balalaika Street are experiencing the same problem. A large hole was left unfilled after the municipality recently did repairs on it. Residents explained that when it rained the pile of dirt was washed across the road, making it very difficult not to get stuck in the mud. One resident actually fixed the hole by himself after five weeks. They tried to contact the municipality several times about the unfilled hole.
