Vosman Police Station partner with Anglo Coal

Vosman Police Station and Anglo Coal have partnered to fight crime.

Colonel T. Mthombeni said the three months of discussions were now bearing fruit. She said they had realized that working together for a common goal was the way to go.

General manger of Anglo Coal, Mr V.J. Khuma, said this was part of the programme of giving back to communities close to them. He said they also needed to stay in a safe place and he hoped the relationship will last a long time.
“Vosman Police Station was our partner of choice and we have already rolled out a programme to help where we can. Together with Business Against Crime, we value the partnership and feel proud to be associated with the station.”

Vosman Police Station commander Brigadier Makhosazana Kheswa was very emotional about the partnership. She said she was speechless and overwhelmed with emotions. She stated she always wondered how they handle the pressure and safety in the mining industry.

She said the time has come to close the gap between them and sustain the relationship.
“It all started off by writing letters and it was a process. Now we are witnessing the bearing of fruits. We needed a map to find different destinations even though there might be challenges along the way. Thanks for accepting us; this will clearly bring peace for today and creating a vision for tomorrow. Thanks for the partnership in helping our foot soldiers in protecting homes, business and the community.

Brigadier Kheswa also stated that they have already come up with crime prevention strategies.  Anglo Coal donated torches, whistles and reflector jackets and a park home.
