Shot at while checking on his dogs

Mr Paul Goldschagg was at home in Blanchville over the weekend when he was almost killed by a single bullet.

On Saturday, January 10 at approximately 22:00 Goldschagg heard his dogs barking outside.
“It was not a normal bark, so I went outside to check what was going on,” said Goldschagg.

Goldschagg noticed an unknown suspect climbing over the wall on the left of the house.
He shouted at him and then picked up a brick and threw it at the suspect.
While Goldschagg was busy doing his he heard a noise on his right, when he looked around he noticed that another suspect was next to him holding a firearm.

A shot was fired and the bullet missed Goldschagg’s head by a very narrow margin.
“I then called Witbank 911 and in less than two minutes, approximately 50 people showed up to assist me,” said a shaken up Goldschagg.

One suspect who climbed over the wall was caught by Witbank 911 in the neighbour’s yard, and the suspect with the firearm managed to get away.
“I have no words to say. Thank you to Witbank 911. Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” said Goldschagg.
