Sabelo had distinctions in Physical Science, Mathematics, Life Sciences, Life Orientations and Geography. He has passed with a B symbol.
He said hard work, school camp and holiday classes all contributed to his achievements.
He will be studying Chemical Engineering at Wits University and has already been accepted for the course.
He is the last born in the family of seven members, even though two are not staying with them in eMalahleni.
“Everybody is happy at home about my achievements, especially my mother. I received a lot of support from them and my schoolteachers as well,” he said.
Kopanang Secondary School was placed third in the Emalahleni Circuit 1.
The school had 84% pass mark last year and after the supplementary exams they obtained an 89% pass mark. This year they obtained a 91% pass mark with only seven failures, who also qualify for supplementary exams, and the school is hopeful that they will achieve a 100% pass mark afterwards.
The school will celebrate the achievement with a party, like last year and there are aiming for a 100% pass mark this year.
