Ex-Kriel High School pupil goes missing

A 30-year-old man went missing more than a week ago, after he let his friend know that he thought he was being followed.

Mr Jason Stanley Davies (30), known as Stan, matriculated from Kriel High School in 2002 and 12 years later the class of 2002 is desperately searching for him by sharing his photo and missing notice, doing what they can for his safe return.

On Tuesday, December 2 Davies is believed to have gone missing at the Hatfield Gautrain Station in the mid afternoon.
Ms Laura Irving is Davies’ roommate for the past seven years and she was chatting to Davies while he was on his way to the University of Pretoria.
“At 12:36 he told me that his cell phone battery was going flat and that he would let me know when he arrived safely at the university,” said Irving.

In his next Whatsapp message, Davies told Irving that he thinks he is being followed.
According to Irving, Davies explained via Whatsapp messages that a man got into the same taxi as he did, near his house in Orchards, Johannesburg. The man then got off with Davies at the Rosebank Gautrain Station, where they boarded the same train and got off in Hatfield.
Since then Irving has not heard from him. She has opened a missing person case at Brooklyn Police Station, who are investigating the case and has gone to all the newspapers in Pretoria.

Davies had Irving’s bankcard with him and at 15:11 on the same day she received an SMS that R3000 was withdrawn from her account in Sandton.
“I am so worried about him, as it is not like him to just disappear, we used to chat every five minutes,” said Irving.
Davies did not exhibit any strange behaviour and she did not know of any problems.

He was on his way to the university to find out what subjects he still needed to complete for his teaching degree. He taught chess to a couple of students and would have started teaching a new student on Wednesday, December 3.
Davies is described as a happy and very intelligent person.

At the time of his disappearance, Davies carried his blue Quicksilver rucksack containing his laptop. He also had his ID and phone with him. He has short brown hair, light green eyes and is about 1.7 metres tall and of medium build.
“This waiting is killing me, I wish I could just get some news about him,” said a tired and worried Irving.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Brooklyn Police Station on 012 366 1700.

Ms Marlene Davies, Stanley’s mother, is worried sick about her missing son.
“I love him very much and the last time I saw him was in March this year when he came to visit me in Cape Town,” said Ms Davies.
