This newly launched programme, titled ‘Vision-4-Life’, follows on the same principal as Slice4Life where the Muslim community donates funds towards helping those less fortunate.
The programme took place at Witbank Hospital over the weekend of December 5 to 7 where 40 patients were given free cataract surgery.
This poverty alleviation project is able thanks to the combined efforts of Witbank Muslim Jamaat, Al-Imdaad Foundation and Witbank Hospital.
Al-Imdaad is best known as a relief organisation and when disasters are not taking place, they turn their attention to bringing about relief in poverty struck areas, they support over 40 hospitals and clinics country wide.
