N4 highway will be closed for a few hours
A coal truck with a full load over turned on the N4 highway towards Pretoria.
On Tuesday, December 2 at 15:12 traffic on the N4 highway came to a complete standstill as coal lay scattered all over the highway.
According to an eyewitness who was travelling meters behind the truck, as the truck was travelling in the slow lane the back of the truck jacked knifed to the side, hitting the grass on the curb causing the driver to lose control of the truck.
The truck landed on the island as coal pieces were scattered all over the highway.
Emergency service arrived on scene, the driver along with two other patients were taken to hospital for treatment.
Motorist can expect a couple of hours delay on the highway towards Pretoria.
