10-year-old hit by car

A 10-year-old pupil from Laerskool Reynorif was rushed to Life Cosmos Hospital after being hit by a car.

On Thursday, November 13 Hope Mthombeni was walking home from school and crossed the road at the stop sign in Dixon Street.
The driver of a black Volkswagen Golf alleged that she stopped at the stop sign when Hope crossed the road.

According to Hope, she and her friend Ethal were walking home from school.
“We stopped at the stop sign to cross the road and before I knew what had happened, the car hit me. The lady said it all happened so fast,” said Hope.

Injured Hope lay on the tar as they waited for an ambulance to arrive.
When the ambulance arrived, Hope was stabilized and taken to Life Cosmos Hospital.

Hope was discharged from hospital that same day.
“I have a broken ankle and need to have an operation. I am not sure when I need to have the operation. My ankle is sore and I can’t go to school yet,” said Hope.
