Cash in transit heist at petrol station

Police suspect it is the same vehicle that was on scene moments before Mr Stoney Steenkamp was shot on August 11.

The heist took place on Monday, September 22 at 09:30 as a G4S van stopped outside the petrol station shop. The security guard, Mr S. Nyoka, jumped out the back of the van and went inside to collect the money.

The guard took a few minutes inside the shop collecting the money. On the video footage a silver-grey Volkswagen Golf GTI was seen pulling into the shop next door.

When Nyoka walked out of the shop and opened the back of the van, two men overpowered him as one grabbed the bag.
Both men ran away as the driver of the van chased them, but could not catch them.

Allegedly, a white Audi was seen driving around that area a few minutes before the heist took place.

Police suspect it is the same vehicle that was on scene moments before Mr Stoney Steenkamp was shot on August 11.
“We ask the community to contact the police if they notice a white Audi with GP numbers plates driving around. Contact 013 655 5052,” said Captain Eddie Hall, spokesperson for Witbank SAPS.
