Four family members were recently held up in their home in a quiet area of eMalahleni by three armed robbers.

The incident happened on Tuesday, September 9 when Mr Stanley White, his mother-in-law, daughter and son were at home.
His wife, Dennene, was at church and their other daughter was visiting a neighbour.

As the four were watching television at approximately 18:30, White heard the back door open and thought it was his wife.
He saw three armed men in the house; the four family members were tied up with cable ties.
As the four members of the family were tied up, the men walked around the house taking various items such as laptops, a television, jewellery, cell phones and money.

Once they got what they wanted, they loaded it all into a vehicle and drove off.
White, who is a member of the Sector Policing in Del Judor Extension 4, called for help over the radio once the armed robbers had left the house.

White’s neighbour ran out and cut the cable ties off his hands, while other members from the sector started patrolling and stood watch at the entrances into Del Judor Extension 4.

An ambulance was called to the scene, where the family members were treated for shock and taken to Life Cosmos Hospital.
One of the suspects could be identified if he was seen again. The armed robbers were all wearing blue jeans and white and blue tops.
On Friday, September 12 at 19:30 Mr Frans Coetzee and his wife were standing outside when the police arrived at their home.

They explained that unknown men entered the house, armed with firearms and they tied them up with cable ties.

The suspects then took items from the house and the bakkie, which was later found in Germiston.
