Sundown’s beauty

Mmaphefo Ntaopane was crowned Miss Mpumalanga Sundown recently but the sun is only just begun to rise on her aspirations.
She tried to enter the Miss Sundowns pageant in 2012, however at 17 she was too young. That did not stop her from becoming second princess in the Miss Teen Witbank Pageant and achieving fifth place in Miss Mpumalanga.

During 2013 she did not enter Miss Sundowns to rather focus on her matric year at Hoërskool Patriot, but she promised herself that 2014 she would win it, and she kept that promise to herself by claiming the title on August 30 during the event in Nelspruit.

She is currently studying Hotel Management in Pretoria, but she still makes time for her duties as Miss Sundowns by being involved with charities such as Highveld House here in Emalahleni.

When she does have some time to herself she enjoys cooking and baking as a hobby, which is connected to her desire to study within the hospitality industry.

Her mother and father have been very supportive of her dream. The judges were looking not only for beauty but confidence, and strong personality and that is exactly what they found in Mmaphefo. She is looking towards the national Miss Sundowns pageant which she has qualified for in November, and then possibly beyond that to becoming the next Miss South Africa one day.
