Car dealership burglary

Two computers were stolen from a car dealership in Klipfontein.

An on-duty security guard working at McCarthy Volkswagen discovered a shattered glass window and two computers that were missing on Sunday, August 14 early in the morning.

According to one of the managers at the dealership, the guard was on the other side of the property busy booking in a towed vehicle when he heard faint noise.

He apparently went to investigate a while later and found the window smashed in behind one of the desks. The two computers that were on the desks nearest to the window were taken. The robbers seemed careful not to trip the alarm and nothing else was stolen.

McCarthy Volkswagen is considering additional security measures such as CCTV cameras to protect the property from future break-in attempts.
Although this has never happened before other businesses in the area should be aware of the incident.

Witbank SAPS took finger prints and is investigating the matter further.
