Collision leaves driver dead

A collision on the old Ogies road left the driver of an Isuzu bakkie dead.

The accident occurred on August 11 at about 11:40.
“As I came around the corner I saw the bakkie go off the road to the left onto the gravel. The driver then tried to come back onto the road and drove straight in front of me,” said Mr Gert du Preez, the driver of the truck.

The collision crushed the cab of the bakkie, killing the driver.

Paramedics from Langamed Emergency Management Services attempted to revive the driver of the bakkie but were unable to. He was declared dead on scene.

The driver of the bakkie was taken by Witbank Pathology to Witbank Mortuary where police await next of kin to come identify the body.
