Three suspects identified in armed robbery

Police are on the hunt for five suspects, who have been identified in connection with an armed robbery.

On August 1 seven armed suspects entered a business in OR Tambo Street and bound two security guards as well as six contractors who were staying on site.
“As far as I know, they fired off a few gunshots to scare them once they locked them up in one of the rooms, they then headed straight for the safe,” said Mr Clinton Nel, business owner.

The armed robbers, who were identified as former employees, were seen on security footage wearing clothing they had worn to their former workplace.
“Most of the suspects are former employees who were dismissed for theft of stock and diesel, amongst other items,” continued Nel.

The suspects stole a white Daihatsu Granmax with registration HDR 034 MP.

They attempted to steal one of the trucks, which was later discovered along one of the embankments at the business.
“This is the second break-in in six months,” ended Nel.

The public is requested to come forward with any information regarding the robbery and the whereabouts of the suspects, contact W/O Pat Makunyane on 083 897 5271.
