Dog poisonings in Extension 16

“I heard the dogs barking for some reason and went to look but there was nothing,” said Mr David Smith, a resident from Extension 16.

He went out to find that his two Boerboels had been poisoned.

The poisoning took place on Friday, July 11.
“We rushed my two dogs to the vet, unfortunately we were only able to save one of them. They poisoned my dogs with Two-step,” continued Smith.

Would be burglars had coated a piece of meat in the drug Two-step, also known as Timek.
“The poisonings are a big problem in this area, did you know 16 dogs have been poisoned last month, just in Extension 16?” he added.

Smith suspects people walking past his house, scouting out the area and added that a neighbour’s dogs had also been poisoned.

According to the police, 16 cases of dog poisoning have been reported since July 1. Police caution dog owners to be careful and not touch the Two-step with their bare hands.
