Robbers hold man’s nephew at gunpoint

“It was the new security company’s first day on the job when it happened,” explains Mr Collin Radebe.

Radebe was at work when the robbery took place on July 2 at his home in Tasbet Park Village Green. His nephew was at home at the time.
“They got in through the back door, they used what looked like a crowbar to break the lock open,” added Radebe.

Radebe’s nephew awoke thinking his uncle had come home but instead met two unfamiliar faces.

One of the armed robbers drew a gun and pointed it at Radebe’s nephew.
“He was told to lie still and stay quiet, my nephew told me he was so scared at the time,” continued Radebe.

The robbers took Radebe’s flat-screen television, a laptop, modem, a number of clothes as well as cosmetics and colognes. They then made a phone call to an accomplice who showed up at the house with a bakkie, the stolen items were loaded and the robbers drove off.

A case of house robbery was opened at Witbank Police, who are currently investigating the crime.
“He is a little traumatised by the whole thing but I am glad that he is okay,” ended Radebe.
