On July 3 at about 14:00 two women were walking home from the local municipality when two young men approached. One of the men asked for directions, as the 55-year-old woman answered, the other snatched her handbag and bolted off.
An off-duty police officer was driving by at the time and saw the two women giving chase to the young thief. The policemen hooted to get the attention of community members nearby.
Community members rushed forward and wrestled the young thief to the ground. The 18-year-old suspect was arrested and the stolen money recovered. It was handed back to the woman and the young man was charged with common robbery.
