Stolen car recovered same evening

The Nissan 1400 bakkie that was stolen from a secured parking lot, was recovered that same evening by a policeman from eMalahleni.

The car was stolen from a secure parking lot in eMalahleni on Saturday, June 21 where Ms Nelly Petros parked it.

Petros stayed inside the building for a couple of hours before she received a call from a tracking company that told her that her vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot.

Warrant Officer Henri Appelgryn followed the tracking call and recovered the Nissan 1400 bakkie in Mamelodi.

W/O Applegryn handed the case over to Mamelodi East Police Station and the car was later booked in.

Petros was notified by the police that she could go to Pretoria to fetch her vehicle.
“The canopy, spare wheel, and the groceries that I bought, were stolen,” said Petros.

Petros is now saving up money to buy a new spare wheel and a canopy.
“I am very happy to have my bakkie back, but it’s going to cost money now to have all fixed up,” said Petros.
